Anatomy Studies

I found this rare pocket of stillness at SVA during a season when New York felt like it was constantly shifting. It was known as one of the most technical, ‘hard’ courses, but for me, it was actually a place to rest.
There was this profound sense of ease in knowing that the room would be exactly how I left it. The teacher took care of everything—they made sure the subject was there, the lighting was the same, and my spot was waiting for me. All I had to do was show up and draw.
In a life where things are always changing, being able to come back to the same image week after week was a luxury. It was the first time I really took my time making something. No rush, no noise—just me, the paper, and the chance to see the same thing again and again. It was a place to grow without the pressure, and I look forward to finding that kind of fun in a classroom again.
