Creativity as the Backbone for Humanity
I’ve been reflecting a lot this past month as I’ve been playing with money. Sorting out my Roth IRA. Investing into stock that I strongly believe is going to upgrade humanity into the new age of fun, delight, and more time to be with ourselves. With this, I’ve realized how much Humanity is also going through this huge upgrade around the importance of Creativity in daily life—not just as a hobby, but as a form of expression.
It has both completely excited me and pointed to a spot in my heart that’s been beating with a lot of anticipation. Unsure about what this beat was—thinking there was something wrong with me, wondering why no one else is seeing this. Perhaps I’m lightyears ahead of the game, or perhaps I’ve been one of the lucky ones to have enough inner richness to always carve space for my creative life. Even receive income from it.
Perhaps it’s deeper than that; a strong calling in my bones, that my ancestors are dancing with me, vibrating back to me to give to you. To offer the readers here the written medicine of: Yes, your creativity is equally as important as putting food in your belly. It’s equally as important as connecting with a lifelong partnership. It’s equally as important as healing from your trauma.
What I’m here to share with you today is the remembrance of how important creativity is. How it's the blood that makes you human. How it's what motivates you to look at life differently, and reabsorb all the differences there are in this world and make life from it. How Creativity is the thing that lets all those edges that don't quite look like they fit together magically fit with a snap of your hand.
Creativity is the backbone of humanity because we are going through such a shift of consciousness. We are all remembering—which includes the Queers, the People of Color, the communities that have been isolated away from the mainstream way of being—into remembering all of our roots, no matter how falsely we have been told we have been disconnected from them. We are living in a time where the “minority” is being called back into the “majority.” Where all the pieces are coming back together, whether anyone is ready for it or not.
This is why Creativity is the backbone of Humanity.
Only through creativity will we be able to connect to our humanity through Love and remember those words that can't be found in a book. The words that can never be spoken into living language. The books written in your soul that move through your existence every time, because creativity is your life’s blood—your soul’s way of knocking at your door and saying, “Hey, come play with me.”
Yes, it can be easy.
Yes, it can be Fun.
Yes, it can be fulfilling.
