Music Box

2020

The Music Box marks a pivotal threshold in my journey as an artist. It was the first time I felt the weight and wisdom of my ancestors speaking directly through the lines of my brush.

What began as a simple gift for a Brooklyn-based musician—a home for his synthesizers—became a sacred channel. As I painted, the connection I felt to his sound merged with a deeper, older frequency. I realized I wasn't just decorating a box; I was mapping an ancestral vibration. It was the moment I stopped 'making art' and started becoming a vessel for the 'Human Upgrade.' Though the friendship that sparked this piece has since transitioned, the resonance of that first ancestral whisper remains etched in every teal and black wave.
